Hatch Pattern Creator Plug-in

The Hatch Pattern Creator is a dynamic plug-in designed for TurboCAD Deluxe, enabling users to craft custom Brush Patterns for their design projects. This tool offers a variety of methods for generating patterns, namely the By Symbol and By Sample modes.

In the By Symbol mode, users can select any drawing entities like Flexible text, Polylines, Lines, Arcs, Curves, or Circles, or parts thereof, using a selection fence. Adjustments to the pattern's frequency and direction of occurrence can be easily made through control points, providing flexibility in design. On the other hand, the By Sample mode utilizes a pre-prepared sample to create patterns. The tool automatically identifies valid repeating patterns within the sample, which must repeat both vertically and horizontally, and generates a tiling hatch pattern based on this repetition.

The Hatch Pattern Creator also allows for the selection and amalgamation of existing patterns. By combining several patterns, users can fabricate more complex and layered designs. As new patterns are created, they can be saved to the Brush Style Table, making them readily available for future use and thereby enhancing the efficiency and creativity of the design process.

Features of Hatch Pattern Creator

• Creating Patterns - By Symbol

In the "By Symbol" mode, you can select drawing entities or their segments to create patterns. Simply activate the HPC, set the initial corner of your selection fence, move the cursor to the desired location, and finalize the selection to generate your pattern.

• Creating Patterns - By Sample

The "By Sample" mode allows for pattern creation using a predefined sample. Draw the pattern, initialize the selection fence at the first corner, and move the cursor to a new position to define the pattern based on your sample.

• Using Existing Brush Styles

Leverage existing hatch pattern type brush styles as a foundation for new patterns. To use an existing pattern, select the HPC, navigate to the local menu or Inspector bar, choose the desired Brush Style from the dialog, and confirm your selection.

• Accumulating Patterns

This feature enables the accumulation of selected symbols, samples, or existing patterns. To accumulate patterns, activate the HPC, and toggle the "Accumulate patterns" option in the local menu or Inspector bar.

• Transforming Patterns

Adjust your patterns using blue control points or the Inspector bar, which allows you to modify the rotation angle, offset the origin point of the pattern, and scale the pattern’s height.

• Storing Created Patterns

Patterns can be saved at any time as a new or existing style within the TurboCAD Brush Style Table. To save a pattern, use the local menu or Inspector bar, enter a name for the new style, and click OK to store it.
